Night-blooming cereus,epiphylum 曇花一現
It is called the night-blooming cereus as "so beautiful, so shortly duration". Here is the blooming of epiphylus in my home at night Apr.29 2007
曇花 只在晚上開 而且 只開一晚 隔日 就凋謝了 花形很美 並不具有香氣 花蕊淡黃色 我種了很久 這是第二次開花

我的經驗 曇花並不難栽培 剪枝插入土裡 就可了(就這樣簡單 因為簡單 所以 它也不是"名貴"的花種 當然要施肥) 至於開花 就要慢等了(好像德川家康在等杜鵑鳥啼) 好像在本地 大部份的花卉冬天是不開花的(國蘭 玫瑰可以)
這次的開花 前後約等了兩週(從花冠初現到全開)
It is a very beautiful flower. Are there many blooms on each vine? Do they each bloom once every night? How large are the blooms?
I hope to see some when I visit Kaohshiung again in March or April 2009.
